gajEndra wanted to offer the best of lotus to Him. He roamed all over the places in search of such a flower. At last he found it in a big lotus pond. But Alas! he was caught by a crocodile as he plucked the flower. The elephant cried out to Him calling His thousand names. BagavAn did ‘anugraha’ to him and removed his duhKa. He resides in tirukkAvaLampADi where there are vaidikas who enhance the spiritual wealth of the city which is already full of material wealth.

AzhwAr requests BagavAn to remove the duhKa of samsAra as he is caught by the crocodile of five indriyas. Oh! emberumAn! You stay in tirukkAvaLampADi to protect people like us who seek no other as their rakShaka.

He took varAha avatAra and lifted Boomi pirATTi from the aNDa Bitti; He took vAmana avatAra to bet from mahAbali three feet of land at the behest of dEvas; Thus You destroy Your enemies—who are in reality the enemies of Your Baktas—and do a quick job of it. Oh! emberumAn! Oh! kaNNa! You reside in kAvaLampADi in order to bless Your dAsas. I have no other refuge except You.

emberumAn! karuttanE! kAvaLandaNpADiyAi! You killed vAli—a great hero who had fought many wars bore many scars in his chest—by one arrow which pierced his chest. You gave the kingdom and crown to his brother sugreeva who had the desire to get both. (karuttuDai tambi) You reside in kAvaLampADi where there are plenty of jack fruit and mango trees bearing huge fruits that fall down due to their weight, split open shedding the honey that flows like a river.

Oh! kAvalandaNpADiyAi!—You killed rAvaNa, the great king of lankApuri by cutting his ten heads off with Your powerful arrows and gave his brother viBeeShaNa who has surrendered to Your tiruvaDi the kingdom and crown. You reside in tirukkAvaLampADi where there are lots of flowering trees. The bees drink the honey making loud noise on hearing which the kayal fish jump out of fear.

Oh! nAngai emberumAn! kAttavanE! You went as a messenger (hanging a tag from Your neck) to duryOdana on behalf of Your Baktas (the pANDavas) in order to speak for yudhiShTira (desiring to get kingdom for him who has the right for it). You killed both kuvaLayApeeDa, the mad wild elephant and its mahout. You reside in kAvaLandaNpADi of nAngoor where there is wealth of forest and water and stands as rakShaka to all.

kaNNanE! You sent garuDa to bring the tree (karpaham) from indra’s garden (which satyaBAma wanted but was refused by indrANi) and plant it in her house after defeating indra in a fight and destroying his garden. It is said indra built the city of nAngoor in order to make it like swarga with beautiful gardens. He resides in the divya dESa called tirukkAvaLampADi.

He resides in kAvaLandaNpADi where there are abundant pArijAta trees. The peacocks dance beautifully enhancing the charm of the forests. tirumangia AzhwAr has sung these ten beautiful pASuras on the emberumAn residing in kAvaLampADi of tiru nAngoor. This divya dESa is rich because of the vaidikas, because of the forest and water wealth, because of emberumAn residing there. Those who read these ten pASuras will become a king on this earth ruling justly under a white royal umbrella receiving tributes from the neighbouring kings and princes.
